The domestic auto market is expected to continue growing in the remaining months of this year, according to experts, after expanding by up to 120 per cent in October.
Kim Long Nam JSC has received approval in principle from the People’s Committee of Thua Thien – Hue to develop an auto manufacturing – assembly complex in the provincial Chan May – Lang Co Economic Zone.
The draft decree on conditions for auto manufacturing, assembling, importing, and maintenance and warranty business recently publicised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) is stirring up concerns in general public and industry insiders.
There will be a steep rise in import duties on various types of trucks
and their parts from December 20, a new circular issued by the
finance ministry said.
Viet Nam imported 16,000 completely built cars, or units (CBU), worth
US$308 million in the first half of this year, up 17.8 per cent in
volume and 7.5 per cent in value year-on-year.
